We are very happy to announce that through the hard work of Karla, the Wellwood Manager of Volunteers, and her team of new and seasoned volunteers who have helped sew together squares, they have just about caught up with the backlog created due to the Covid-19 restrictions and resulting pause in the program – well ahead of their anticipated completion date. This is fantastic news as we can now move forward at the usual pace and this will be the last COVID-19 UPDATES post.
The Squares of Care program is happy to be accepting all squares once again!
Thank you to everyone who contributed and stored squares during the pause in the program, sewed up squares, and made full afghans. Your generous contributions of time and resources does so much to help those going through very difficult times.
The good people at Wellwood very much appreciated your patience and efforts during these past few difficult years as we were forced to continually adjust to the changing times and protocols.
Please note, as a result of process changes due to hospital protocols, everyone is now asked to bring their squares to the Wellwood Juravinski House (Community site) at:
501 Sanatorium Road (where Sanatorium meets Rice)
Hamilton, Ontario L9C 2A7
The site is open daily from 10-3 pm and folks can drive right up to the front door.
