Knit or Crocheted
Knitting or crocheting a full afghan
You are quite welcome to knit or crochet a full afghan rather than making up one from squares or contributing squares. Following these guidelines will help to ensure it is suitable for the recipients in our program.
38″ x 53″ for adults (30″ x 45″ for children) is an ideal size without being too large. The bigger it is, the heavier it is.
These same sizes are suggested for our granny square afghans as well.
Please use a 4-ply, worsted-weight acrylic yarn rather than wool, there will be fewer reactions this way.
Crocheted or knitted, it’s up to you!
When you are finished, consider adding a simple border of about 1″ to 2″ around to finish it off and help it lay flat.

These past few years we have had to continually adjust as protocols changed. We are still moving through a period of adjustments, so subscribing is the best way to know where we’re at. Thanks!
