To our dear, valued Wellwood friends and supporters:
Thirty years ago, I had the privilege of witnessing the vision of the founders that led to the incorporation of Wellwood. My mom was one of the members of the working group, but did not live to see the doors open. I applied to be the new organization’s first Executive Director, and made it my life’s work to ensure our community had Wellwood.
I am so grateful that you have helped us to ensure that this is a safe place for people who are living with cancer to gather and find their own sense of community.
We hope that you are planning on joining us for the 30th anniversary celebration on Saturday, May 2 (1 to 5 pm) at our community site (501 Sanatorium Road on Hamilton’s West Mountain.)
It features an afternoon of magnificent music by Juno award-winning musicians, Sonia Collymore and Dwight Dawes. The catering is by Cavallo Nero of Ancaster, a cash bar will have premium wines and beer, and there will be tours of Wellwood’s extensive and impressive art collection, the entirety of which has been donated.
