Dear Afghan Program Volunteers,
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news. While this milestone can sometimes be considered bittersweet, we are incredibly proud to have reached the remarkable achievement of distributing more than 31,000 afghans over the past 28 years! 🎉
This achievement would not have been possible without the countless hours of knitting, crocheting, assembling, packaging, and distributing that you have contributed over the years. Each afghan represents so much more than yarn and stitches, it represents warmth, comfort, kindness, and a tangible reminder to someone affected by cancer that they are not alone.
We also want to share a special message from Patti, one of the volunteers who distributes the afghans at the hospital. She wants each and every one of you to know just how truly appreciative the patients are when they receive an afghan. She sees firsthand the joy and gratitude these beautiful creations bring, and she wants you to know that your generosity and thoughtfulness are making a real difference to people during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
For 28 years, your creativity and commitment have helped make the Afghan Program a meaningful part of the Wellwood experience. Whether you have been volunteering with us for many years or joined us more recently, you are an important part of this incredible milestone.
We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and for the difference you continue to make, one stitch at a time.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Karla Jones
