Hello Everyone!
We’re thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement — the Wellwood Afghan Program has now distributed 30,000 afghans since 1998! 💜
This milestone is made possible by the thousands of people who have contributed squares, afghans, quilts, stuffies, yarn, crochet hooks and knitting needles for the last 27 years. We are so grateful for the dedication of our current team of more than 150 volunteers who bring devotion and skill to every stage of the process — from knitting and crocheting squares and afghans, to assembling the squares, hand-sewing labels, packaging and distribution.
Together, they ensure that each afghan finds its way to someone facing cancer who feels lifted by the gift of coziness, colour and comfort. Every stitch reflects the incredible power of community and compassion. 💖
